January of 1974 saw the arrival of the final production GT for quite some time.The pressure from the government about performance cars had taken its toll and Ford was to withdraw from motor sport in Australia (and around the world) and in doing so the death knell was dealt for the GT. Some consider this GT to be the most stylized and best looking GT of the range with its tweaks in style from the XA. The major style change for the XBGT was the introduction of body colored Bumpers.
