Story - For as long as i remember i've always
wanted an XTGT For years i kept an old magazine with an XTGT in it and always
said "when i get some cash i'm gonna buy one and do it up to look exactly
like the one in the mag" Well as an apprentice mechanic my wallet seemed
to always be empty so i got a 2nd job at a bottleshop. Coming home from summernats
(number 13 i think?) i was nearly home and spotted an XTGT in a servo bonnet
up, steam everywhere, I was running really late to pick up my now wife up,
i remember stopping the car and thinking about how much sh#t i'll be in, then
made a u-turn asked the question to the guy who was not happy to say the least
(never heard a bloke curse a car so much in my life). He said he'll take the
stereo out and he'll sell it.I came home to my mrs to tell her the exciting
news which for some reason she wasn't as enthused as i'd hoped. For the price,
i assumed it wasn't genuine although he said it was, 2 days later my ford
nut cousin drove up from ACT to confim it was and i drove it home. About 5
years went by and digging through cupboards i found the magazine from years
before and came to realise that i had bought the actual car that was in the
magazine. Might sound a little corny but it was how it happened and i think
it was meant to be, We cruise in it as much as we can and couldn't give a
toss about GT prices to date because it only matters if your going to sell
it, but how could you part with something you love so much just for the sake
of the dollar.
