GT Club Runs - Nelson Bay

Another Saturday night run has arrived. I spent most of the day working on either the GT or the AU XR6. The GT had an issue with the sump guard hanging down low and hitting the ground making a scraping noise with slight bumps. The AU was a lot bigger job with the majority of the dash being removed and reinstalled. Got the GT out of the way first as I knew id be driving it later that day.

Left for the meeting point which is the regular hexham maccas spot. We drove a different route to this event today and as such arrived later than we normally would. As a result instead of being among the first there we were virtually the last. A good turnout awaited us with six cars lined up with the owners enjoying a chat. The destination for today's run was decided to be Nelson Bay so we all packed up our gear and made our escape.

Arriving at the foreshore of Nelson Bay we were confronted by people everywhere and bugger all parks. We eventually found a spot further around the waterfront which wasn't a worry. Parked all the cars and set up camp. The majority decided soon afterwards it was tome for dinner so a guard was posted (thanks Ray) whilst the rest of us headed for the cafe's and restaurants of the bay. Most decided to grab some takeaway but Karen and I decided to eat in at Hogs Breath. As a result we were last back to the cars after our meals. We all sat around enjoying a chat waiting for the fireworks display that was on for the festival. The event organisers put on a good fireworks show that lasted probably ten minutes. By then end we all had the same idea and it was time to hit the frog and toad. Got a little lost in the dark exiting the bay and somehow managed to meet up with another club member for the trip back to Newcastle. Then left them and headed home. One of the better Saturday night runs.
