HUNTER VALLEY GARDENS - NSW CLUB
This run sees the nsw club heading north to the hunter vally. More specifically to a town called pokolbin. Famous for its wineries this town also houses the Hunter Valley Gardens. An expansive area of different themed gardens.
The route for this run takes the club virtually past my house so I decided to meet the club on the F3 as they pased by. I was joined on the F3 by Peter who also lives on the coast. After a short wait the convoy arrived and we set off to join the pack on the journey.
The only incident on the trip up there was a near serious accident. For some reason the club cars were in the right hand lane as was I and something was holding us up. A laser came screaming up behind me and must of all of a sudden noticed the back of my car looming fast and the driver reefed the wheel one way then the other in a display that nearly resulted in loss of control and a serious accident. Peter's heart rate would have jumped considerably as he was following the laser.
Compared to the F3's pace the drive through Cessnock was a crawl. Working our way through the lights in the main street to turn right and head out to the wineries area took a little time. Eventually though we made it to the gardens and parked the cars in a virtually empty car park near the picnic area.
The rest of the time was spent looking around at the shops nearby and talking to the group. One by one cars started to leave though to make the trip back down the F3 so we made the decision to head over to kurri kurri to check out another car show on that day.
